JIB Crane

JIB cranes are overhead lifting devices featuring a horizontal arm (jib or boom) that supports a movable hoist. They are primarily used in industrial settings for repetitive lifting tasks in localized work cells, often complementing larger overhead bridge cranes. Commonly floor-mounted or wall-mounted, they are used to lift, move, and position heavy loads up to 15 tons, optimizing efficiency in work cells, workstations, and production lines.

Course Details

The JIB crane courses we offer are aimed at operators with different levels of ability. We are able to cater for both novice and experienced handlers. We also offer conversion and refresher courses.

This can vary depending on the experience level and the number of candidates completing the course. For a novice with no prior experience, a typical course can last around 2 days, and for the more experienced handler, courses including the conversion course can be completed within 1-2 days. A refresher course can be completed on the same day, aslong as the candidate has an in-date certificate within the previous 5 years

This will depend on what level of experience the candidates have already reached. The list below explains what course is best suited to each candidate;

Novice course - The novice course is designed for candidates who have had no previous experience on this equipment

Experienced course - The experienced course is designed for candidates who have previous experience on this type of equipment but cannot provide evidence of a previous accredited training certificate

Conversion course - The conversion course is designed for adding remote control and new attachments

Refresher course - The refresher course is designed for candidates wishing to extend their current certificate (Handlers must have an in-date certificate within the previous 5 years)
