Elevated Work Platforms

Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), also known as aerial work platforms (AWPs), are vehicle-mounted machines designed to safely lift personnel, tools, and materials to high, difficult-to-access workspaces. Different types include scissor lifts, boom lifts (articulated and straight), and cherry pickers, which are used for construction, maintenance, and utility tasks. They are commonly used across the construction industry because of their ability to reach and manoeuvre around elevated areas.

Courses we offer

  • These courses are suitable for anyone who will be using mobile access towers at home or at work

Course Details

The Elevated Work Platform courses we offer are aimed at operators with different levels of ability. We are able to cater for both novice and experienced handlers. We also offer conversion and refresher courses.

This can vary depending on the experience level and the number of candidates completing the course. For a novice with no prior experience, a typical course can last around 1 days, and for the more experienced handler, courses including the conversion course can be completed within the same day. A refresher course can be completed on the same day, aslong as the candidate has an in-date certificate within the previous 5 years

This will depend on what level of experience the candidates have already reached. The list below explains what course is best suited to each candidate;

Novice course - The novice course is designed for candidates who have had no previous experience on this equipment

Experienced course - The experienced course is designed for candidates who have previous experience on this type of equipment but cannot provide evidence of a previous accredited training certificate

Conversion course - The conversion course is designed for the candidate who has previous experience on a similar piece of equipment
Refresher course - The refresher course is designed for candidates wishing to extend their current certificate (Handlers must have an in-date certificate within the previous 5 years)
